September Ride Out - Save the date

Organiser Karel Burgoyne

Here we go, a nice collection of what I term “good biking roads”.

Plan is to aim to be fuelled up and leave V8 cafe at 10am.
Those who come earlier can get a breakfast roll and cuppa. Pre run social.

First off, meander up to Dingwall, and take the top road to Alness, heading towards the golf club.
From there a wee single track road, doesn’t appear to have a number, but on google maps named as Scotsburn Road.

Last time I travelled on it, I liked some of the houses you could see en route.

Anyway keeps us off the A9, until Tain, bit novel to some?

From Tain, heading for Bonar Bridge, Invershin, via the Spinnindale road.
Carrying on through Lairg and up to Crask Inn*.

Where hopefully they are open that day and we can have some lunch.

*I will of course, be checking in advance with them to confirm numbers etc.

But if they are not open that day.

I suggest we still travel to there but then pop back to Pier in Lairg. Helps with timings for lunch.

Post lunch from either Crask / Lairg down the Rogart road, back over the Dornoch bridge and then head for the Struie, the Evanton junction and then cruise down to the Costa at the Retail park on the Aberdeen A96 road.

But open to another suggestion for a cafe at end.

In any case, on the approach to Inverness, you can break off / head home as you feel.

 Route distance is c165miles.
