IAM Roadsmart advanced training is open to everyone over the age of 17 who holds a valid full UK licence.

Once you have joined IAM as an associate member, you will be allocated one of our observers to coach you through the training. This is done with your own vehicle, during which you will receive guidance and coaching on safe advanced driving / riding techniques. You will be offered as many runs as you need to get you to the standard required so you are more than ready for your test.

When you are ready, an Advanced test will be booked for you through IAM Roadsmart and an examiner will be allocated. On successfully passing the test you will become a full member of both IAM Roadsmart and the Highland group.

Cost: £175, which includes the associate’s handbook, the test fees and membership to both the local group for 1 year, and IAM Roadsmart. Bursaries are available and the latest offer can be found in our News section.
